A high-quality amateur orchestra performing the finest symphonic repertoire in the heart of Glasgow
Glasgow Sinfonia was founded in September 1986 and has been bringing ambitious symphonic programming to Glasgow audiences ever since. As a registered charity, our mission is simple: to achieve the highest possible standard of ensemble playing and to share our love of orchestral music with the city.
Our players are skilled amateur musicians drawn primarily from the Glasgow area, united by a commitment to serious repertoire and high performance standards. We perform three concerts each season at Sherbrooke Mosspark Parish Church — a warm and acoustically fine venue in the south side of Glasgow.
All concerts take place at Sherbrooke Mosspark Parish Church, 240 Nithsdale Road, Glasgow G41 5AD, at 7:30 PM unless stated otherwise.
We rehearse on Monday evenings throughout the season at Woodlands Methodist Church in the West End of Glasgow.

Orchestral Players
We welcome applications from skilled orchestral musicians based in the Glasgow area. Players are expected to be of approximately Grade 8 standard or above and committed to regular attendance.
We do not always have vacancies but maintain a waiting list — if you are interested we encourage you to apply. New players are offered a trial term before a full membership decision is made.

As a registered charity, Glasgow Sinfonia relies on the generosity of patrons to help us maintain the quality of our concerts and support the costs of running the orchestra.
